how will you target your intended audience?
how will your production conform to its industry context?
how will you target your cross-media production demonstrate a digital convergence?
how and why will you use media language in your production?
media language; mise-en-scene, colour palette, shot types, genre codes and conventions.
the mise-en-scene will be significant within this audio-visual piece as it will link with the genre of a crime drama. I will follow the stereotypes of a crime drama to a degree, but also use genre hybridity to make my product more individual/unique. the way that I will use the mise-en-scene will be by using low-key lighting to create suspense and tension, I will also use a restricted colour palette that is darker to create a sense of eeriness. the costumes will be modern day clothing to make it appear as realistic as possible and it will therefore make the main character feel more relatable to the audience. the setting will be modern and urban to create a sense of familiarity and locality, this will hopefully have the effect that the audience believes that this could happen in an everyday situation.
the shot types will be varied to match the speed of the narrative, however, at points of the narrative that are significant I will try to make the editing as distinct and individual as possible to make it more interesting and to hook the audience. props that will be used will just include everyday items however, I want to ensure that there is a prop that is continuously used throughout such as; glasses or a note book or something that related to this. I think this will anchor an audience as they will be intrigued about this prop that they always see.
music, editing time/pace, add in textual analysis.
how and why will you construct representations of individuals, groups and issues/events?
representations:
individuals- female detective/student, reinforces an idea that women are able to be detectives and challenges the stereotypical norms that detectives are males.
I want to avoid the stereotypical theoretical idea of females being the victims and males being the protagonists' and I want to do this by having a female lead detective
(need to add to this section when I am clearer of the plot of my audio-visual piece).
how will you target your intended audience?
the age of the characters
the storyline itself will be about a student in higher education/university.
the setting will be urban
within the storyline the young character will do things that you would expect a young person to do. drink, socialise.
the clothing and props used and setting will all be familiar and make people feel as though it could happen in 'their' (the audiences) own lives.
how will your production conform to its industry context?
ITV- modern and new.
fits the mission statement/values of the programme.
